Election Day is right around the corner, and Paw Paw Public Schools Non-Homestead Operating Millage Renewal is on the ballot. Voters will be asked to consider a ballot proposal that would renew Paw Paw Public Schools Current Operating Millage rate of 18 mills for a period of 10 years. There is no cost on primary residences. This millage applies only to non-homestead properties such as rental homes, commercial property, businesses, and vacation homes. It will impose no new taxes. Holding this millage rate steady for the next 10 years will ensure that all students have access to opportunities that will prepare them for college, trade schools, the workforce and beyond! For questions regarding the November 2, 2021 Non-Homestead Operating Millage Renewal, please call the District Administration Office at 269-415-5200 or visit www.ppps.org

Don't forget about the PTO/Scholastic Book Fair. Open today in the Later Elementary library until 7:30. 20 minutes of reading daily goes a long way toward success in the classroom! Our PTO is also in need of volunteers for our Mother Son event on Saturday. They need volunteers for the event, not set up. The Later Elementary definitely needs more people in order to do all of the planned activities. Sign up at the following link. I had a great time joining Mrs. White’s students at PPLE today as they participated in their weekly Kids Cooking Around the World zoom class along with other students from around the country. Each week these students make a dish that represents food from a different area of the world. So far, the they have made pork dumplings from China, coconut chicken curry from India and tostones from Ecuador. As they develop good kitchen skills and habits, Mrs. White's students are also learning about unique ingredients and experiencing new foods. The Elementary PTO deserves a special thanks for supporting this learning experience!
