Paw Paw Schools will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, February 23.
PPPS will exercise an abundance of caution today, Wednesday, February 22, closing buildings for any and all school and community activities and events, including practices. Maintenance and facility crews are adjusting for weather and will treat as possible, but will likely not be able to keep up with the ice accumulation that is forecast, so campus roads, sidewalks, and lots may be icy until treated. All Red Wolves are asked to exercise caution and common sense, to stay safe today, watch the weather, and stay tuned for any updates.

Paw Paw Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, February 22. Our current weather forecast predicts an ice storm tomorrow afternoon. While we can't be certain that the forecast will pan out, we are going to err on the side of caution in order to avoid the possibility of having to transport students home tomorrow in treacherous driving conditions. The senior citizen luncheon scheduled for Friday, February 17 has been rescheduled to March 3 due to icy road conditions.

Students in Mrs. Birkenbach's US History course are currently studying WWII. Tuesday, Mrs. Birkenbach shared stories of her grandfather's experiences in the war. Wednesday, a student brought in mementos from her family history. She shared many items, but most timely was the Blue Star Mother Flag from her great grandfather's service in the war. It was timely because the Blue Star Mothers Organization was founded on February 1, 1942. Thank you to our students and their family for sharing your history with us!

The rough draft of the 22-23 yearbook is complete! Yearbook students have been practicing how to provide constructive criticism. Now they practice on themselves and their classmates. Each student is given 5 post-its that they have to turn in at the end of class with changes that can be made to improve the yearbook before it goes to publishing. The yearbook class will do this at least 2 more times as they are editing and rearranging photos, headings, and copy.

The end of a scientific research project! Students studied pesticides and their impact on aphids with Ms. Genung recently. These posters show their findings and look at the impact generationally on the aphids.
A *giant* thank you to Paw Paw District Library and Ms. Kayla for providing the materials and guiding Aspire Academy students through creating gingerbread houses on Friday, December 16.
Students were able to spend some time this afternoon creating and decorating the houses as a reward for having all their work in and passing all their classes.
Mrs. Congdon and Mrs. Chandler are looking forward to partnering with Ms. Kayla in the future to update the library at Aspire and bringing more materials to our students for Free Reading on Fridays.
All local senior citizens are welcome to join us for tomorrow's "Holiday Happiness Luncheon" at Paw Paw High School! This complimentary luncheon is a way for students to connect with the community and give back to our senior citizens who have served in so many ways.
