1.) Swimming is a no-cut sport. All are welcome to join and give Swimming/Diving a try. Mandatory practices will begin Monday, August 10th and run through Nov 7th. Practice times/dates will be sent out as soon as they are finalized. Our practices are 2 hours and will be between 3:30pm-7:30pm based on pool space/availability. We practice at both YMCA locations in Portage/Kalamazoo & potentially K-College this season. Meets are Tuesdays at 6pm. A Full Meet schedule will be released as well. Athletes will be required to purchase a Team Suit and Cap as well as pay a team participation fee. Athletes are encouraged to purchase their own goggles, but those can be provided along with all other swim equipment.
*Your athlete will not be allowed to participate without a valid Physical AND Consent form. Please make sure these are uploaded into your Final Forms account well in advance of the Season start date.

2.) Summer Conditioning: We will begin our Teams Summer Conditioning on Monday June 8th, the dates and times for summer conditioning workouts are as follows:
● Mondays 3:30-4:30pm @ Mattawan High School Weight Room
● Thursdays 8:15-9:15am @ Mattawan High School Weight Room
These workouts are completely optional but heavily encouraged not only for athletes to begin athletic conditioning for the season but also it's great for the new girls to meet the team and allow incoming freshmen to feel comfortable before season starts. I am a Certified Personal Trainer and have my CPT Certification from NASM and I will be running our weight room (Dryland) workouts. We will do a blend of lifting, stretching, mobility work and cardio. All athletes should come dressed in appropriate workout attire, proper footwear, and have a water bottle with them.
There will be a Dead Week of NO summer workouts the week of June 29th-July 3rd. The final summer workout will be held on Thursday, July 30th.
3.) There will be a pre-season parent meeting a couple weeks before the season starts, date to be determined.
