The Honorable Judge McKay from Van Buren Courthouse came to share stories and congratulate some of our students at PPEE.

Early childhood education helps reduce education equity gaps that exist for children. Shown here, the proposed Early Childhood Education Center would be built north of the Later Elementary building. This new facility would expand our preschool programming, daycare, and before-and-after school care. Visit www.ppps-bond.com for more information. #Maybondproposals

Thank you to everyone who donated items for 100’s day! We collected 452 cards for frontline workers at Bronson (originally collected 371 and had more donated), 436 pairs of socks to donate to United Christian Services, and 197 boxes of toothpaste to donate to Eleanor’s Pantry.

Thank you Ms. Honorable for being our guest speaker during Tuesday’s morning announcements!

Mrs. Davison’s Class celebrating Two’s Day!! They enjoyed guessing who their classmates were at two years old. ✌🏼

Today we acknowledged the day that we will never see again in our lifetime, 2-22-22. The staff celebrated with the students and with each other. Check out this fun team enjoying their day! Ask your child how they celebrated in their classroom.

Good evening Elementary Campus families. Due to our snow days this week, Paw Paw Early and Later Elementary will be rescheduling Parent-Teacher Conferences to next Tuesday,February 8th and Wednesday, February 9th from 1pm-7:15pm.
There will be half days of school on these days with dismissal at 12:15.
We had to cancel all of the previous appointments and we will need parents to create a new conference appointment for each of your children. Sign up for conferences will still be online through a program called School Bookings. You may choose between a Face-to-Face (in-person) conference, a virtual conference, or a phone conference, and you can schedule all of your elementary children at one time. The PTO will be holding a Book Fair in the Later Elementary library for both buildings during conferences.
To access the sign up, go to:
https://www.schoolbookings.net/code/tuh32 (NEW BOOKING LINK)
If you are unable to get online to book your conference, please contact the school office or your child’s teacher. You can also complete your online sign-up in either of the elementary offices. You will need to know your child’s grade & teacher(s) to schedule your conference. At the Later Elementary, you will meet with the 2 teachers who team to teach all of the subjects for that grade level.
PPPS will be closed today due to worsening driving conditions and the high likelihood of continued heavy snowfall throughout the day. Also, elementary parent-teacher conferences that were scheduled for today are being postponed until next week. More information to follow.
Here's a shout-out to Paul Garrod and The Courier-Leader for helping us spread the word about last night's Bond Campaign Kick-Off Meeting! If you are interested in learning more or participating in the information campaign, please contact rick.reo@ppps.org or call 269-415-5200.
Our dance was originally scheduled for next Saturday, February 5th. In light of the high positivity rates of COVID that we are seeing in our district and our community, we have decided to postpone the dance until Saturday, March 19th.
Our original plan was to require masks as a mitigating strategy based on the large crowd that we traditionally have in attendance for this event.
While that is still a definite possibility, we wanted to postpone and hopefully see numbers go down over the next month so that we feel more comfortable considering the possibility of a traditional dance with no mask mandate.
We appreciate your support and understanding of this decision as we remain committed to the health and safety of our families.
For those that paid in advance, please contact your child's school to let them know if you would like a refund by next Friday, February 4th. Otherwise, we will assume that you plan to attend on the rescheduled date.

Everyone is invited to come out tonight for the 1st Annual Quarter Auction fundraiser at Paw Paw Later Elementary! Preventative steps have been taken to keep everyone safe and healthy by promoting social distancing and requiring masks for all guests and volunteers. Hot dogs, chips, drinks, and candy will be available to purchase for dinner, and there will be a bake sale with mouth-watering homemade items for dessert. #ForTheKids

UPDATE: Tonight's Committee of the Whole work session for the school board has been cancelled, as the facilitator will not be able to make it. The 6:00 special board meeting will proceed as scheduled.

Andrew Barrett is a proud WATCH D.O.G. Dad! He volunteers to help kids feel safer at school. As the son of a single mom, Andrew said, "When I was in school, there was nothing like this. When I heard about it, I was all in!" On this day, he helped clear ice and snow. #DadsWhoCare
