Synopsis

Joseph is a handsome young man who’s father, Jacob, favors him above all his other brothers, all eleven of them. To show his love, Jacob buys Joseph a beautiful coat of many colors. Between the coat and the crazy dreams Joseph often tells his brothers of, they decide that maybe its time for their to be “One More Angel In Heaven” and plot against Joseph. Just before they can carry out their malicious plan a pair of passing Ishmaelites present an opportunity for the brothers to sell Joseph into slavery.

Now sold to an Egyptian named Potiphar, Joseph becomes a slave but finds he doesn’t mind the work and becomes a loyal servant to his master. Unfortunately Potiphar’s wife has other plans and through no fault of his own Joseph ends up in prison. With little hope for his life Joseph tells the world to “Close Every Door To Me” and catches the attention of other prisoners. When asked to interpret some of the prisoners dreams Joseph finds some hope in his ability to help others.

When the Pharaoh finds himself having disturbing dreams he calls on Joseph to help him out. After a Vegas performance of the Pharaoh’s dream about “Seven Fat Cows (The Song of The King)” Joseph’s interpretation proves to the Pharaoh that he has what it takes to be Egypt’s number two.

Back in Canaan Joseph’s brothers are starving and missing those good old “Canaan Days”.  With nothing to eat and few choice’s left the brothers travel to Egypt to “Grovel Grovel” for whatever they can get. When Joseph see’s his brothers and realizes they have no clue who he is, he decides to give them a scare and accuses them of theft, specifically his brother Benjamin. Oh no not he say the brothers as they break into “Benjamin’s Calypso”.  Convinced that his brothers have changed for the better Joseph reunites with his family.

In this epic retelling of the biblical saga, Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber take us on a raucous musical journey filled with a vast array of styles ranging from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll. Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a perfect musical for the whole family and is sure to become one of your favorite musicals. Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be presented January 30th and 31st at 7:00 PM and February 1st at 2:00 PM.
