Paw Paw Community Invited to Celebrate the Class of 2021 “Parade of Seniors”
Paw Paw, MI – (May 24, 2021) While many of the graduation celebrations this week are open only to seniors and their immediate families, there is one event in which the PPHS Class of 2021 would love to see a community-wide celebration! Mark your calendars for Thursday, May 27th at 7 pm. Everyone is invited to attend the Paw Paw High School “Parade of Seniors!”
Students are being encouraged to decorate their cars and be in the parade line-up at 6:45 pm. They are also being asked to find a driver for their vehicle so they can fully experience the support of their hometown during the parade.
Now that people are able to gather together safely outdoors, this is a great opportunity to get out and see your neighbors and share in this graduation celebration. It is not necessary to have a senior graduating to show your support. Just pack up your family, friends, lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks, and head to downtown Paw Paw for the parade! Because the public is not allowed to attend the graduation ceremony this year, this will be the best opportunity to rally together and share support for this remarkably resilient Class of 2021! Be sure to arrive early to mark your spot along the route.
Parade Route: The “Parade of Seniors” is approximately three miles long, and is set to leave Paw Paw High School’s parking lot on Thursday, May 27th at 7 pm. The parade route will head west along Michigan Ave. and end at Falan Field behind Paw Paw Middle School. Note: If Michigan Ave. is closed due to construction, the alternate route will leave the High School and head west on Michigan Ave., jog one block north on Kalamazoo St. and head west on Oak St. to N. Gremps St., then south one block back to Michigan Ave. and end at Falan Field.
If you plan to watch the parade, feel free to make signs, create banners, or bring balloons to show your support; but it is not necessary. Seeing your smiling faces along the parade route will be the best going-away gift you can give the graduates.
So let’s come together as a community and give these seniors a hometown send-off they are sure to remember for a long time!
