PPPS Board of Education District Shout Outs

BUILD TOGETHER PAW PAW PUBLIC SCHOOLS

At the end of each regular Board of Education Meeting, board members take a moment to share some of the great things they see in the district while serving on the Board. Recently, board members were asked to share what they feel sets us apart as a district.

Here are this month's points of Pride & Progress:

“I’ll apologize in advance to about half our population, but I’ll cover the boys later. As a girl dad, what I think really sets us apart as a district is our women. Starting in kindergarten through all grades, the programs, the opportunities we have and focus on for girls are beyond compare. Our building leadership has strong women, our teaching team is made up of strong women, and many of our coaches are strong women. To steal Coach Miller’s saying, ‘We’re fierce,’ and we produce fierce girls. I am really proud of the fact that we offer such great opportunities for girls to succeed in our schools and beyond.”  Brent McNitt

“What sets us apart is that we are a small district, but we offer big district amenities. From our award-winning band, music, and performing arts programs to our excellent robotics and sports teams, and so much more. These amenities are things that many districts our size may not offer, but at PPPS no matter what our kids are interested in, there is something for every student from elementary through high school, all factors contributing to our reputation as a destination district.” Ray Martin

“What I feel sets us apart is the people we have working here. We can have beautiful buildings and great programs, but we also have some of the best teachers I’ve ever worked with who go above and beyond for our kids. That’s special. In public education, that’s not always the case everywhere. We are fortunate to have so many people with big hearts! From principals to administrators and bus drivers to cafeteria staff, every one of them goes above and beyond each day for our students. That’s what truly sets us apart as a district – our people.”  Lindsay Clark

“I am most excited about the new SME PRIME program at the high school, where classes are being taught in manufacturing and industrial arts. I am so impressed, and I am telling everyone about it! I even have the “Pride & Progress” newsletter on display at my open houses. I love to brag about all the wonderful things happening at Paw Paw Public Schools. I’m proud of all of you!”  Mary Beth Sons
