Paw Paw Public Schools is proud to welcome Mrs. Leah Barnes as its new Early Elementary Principal.
Before joining Paw Paw Public Schools, Barnes taught kindergarten for four and a half years at Amberly Elementary, a part of Portage Public Schools. Prior to that, she also taught at the elementary level for Kalamazoo Public Schools and Yuma School District One in Yuma, Arizona.
After graduating with her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Western Michigan University, Barnes went on to obtain her Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership in 2021, also from W.M.U.
In addition to building strong staff relationships based on collaboration, she looks forward to getting to know the students and families at the early elementary and in the district. As someone who considers herself a lifelong learner, Barnes is excited to work with students, staff and families to create a positive environment for all.
