Paw Paw, MI - The Michigan High School Athletic Coaches Association (MHSCA) has named Paw Paw High School Varsity Tennis Coach Matt Baleja of Paw Paw Public Schools the State Boys Tennis Coach of the Year!
Mr. Matt Baleja will be formally recognized at the annual MHSCA State Awards Luncheon on November 8, 2026, in Midland Michigan, alongside 28 other distinguished coaches and athletic directors from across the state.
"The selection of Coach Baleja reflects the high standard of excellence maintained by Paw Paw Public Schools and the broader community," the MHSCA noted in the announcement. Candidates for the award are nominated by their respective Associations and evaluated based on long-term program performance, leadership, and contributions to athletics and the community.
This honor is in addition to the awards Baleja received last year as the Division 4 - 2025 Boys Regional Tennis Coach of the Year as well as the 2025 State Tennis Coach of the Year across all divisions by the Michigan High School Tennis Coaches Association (MHSTeCA).
This is a well-deserved honor for an outstanding leader on and off the court. Congratulations, Coach Baleja!
