welcome to the pack school resource Office Felix Torres

Paw Paw Public Schools is proud to welcome new School Resource Officer(SRO) Felix Torres.

Before joining Paw Paw Public Schools as an SRO, Deputy Torres has served the last 13 years as an officer with the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, most recently as a road patrol deputy. His experience also includes general patrol assignments across multiple townships, as well as work as a detective in the Narcotics Division.

“I am most excited about developing positive relationships with the students and staff,” Deputy Torres said. “My goal is to be a presence in all Paw Paw Schools and be a reliable resource for everyone.  I hope to help bridge the gap between law enforcement and youth while serving as a mentor when applicable.”

In his free time, Deputy Torres enjoys playing golf, fishing, traveling with his wife, and occasionally playing video games. Until the age of five or six, Spanish was his first language while growing up in Philadelphia (Go Birds!). As a 25-year resident of Michigan, the Detroit Lions are his second-favorite team.

Deputy Torres is proud that his daughter will also be entering the field of law enforcement when she graduates from Grand Valley State University this spring with a degree in forensics.
