At the end of each regular Board of Education Meeting, board members take a moment to share some of the remarkable things they see in the district while serving on the Board. Here are this month's points of Pride & Progress:
“At Paw Paw Later Elementary, I was happy to be able to attend Hot Diggity Dog. It’s always such a fantastic event, and I encourage everyone to attend. What really stood out to me this year was the number of staff who attended and supported the event from all over the district. Also, it was great to see so many high school students participating. The cheer team has always been a part of it, and new this year, the baseball and softball teams helped as well. The interaction between kids of all different grade levels was great to see. Lastly, just a reminder that the softball team plays in the quarterfinals for the first time in school history, and there will be a VIP escort through downtown Paw Paw as the team heads to Battle Creek.” Brent McNitt
“I was happy to receive invitations to all the events at Paw Paw Early Elementary from Principal Leah Barnes. It was fun being a volunteer face painter for five- to seven-year-olds at a family picnic and recognition event at PPEE, and it was great to see so many families in attendance! Thanks to the kindergarten team for organizing this event. I was also able to attend the Fifth Grade Graduation. It was great to see Principal Carolyn Murray honor the tradition of having teachers recite the poem “Oh, The Places You’ll Go!” Lastly, I was excited to see all the remarkable things happening at the middle school. It was cool that the eighth grade class got to visit Miracle Camp. They loved it! I am thankful for our teachers and administrators who do so much work to make the end of the year so special!” Lindsay Clark
“At Paw Paw Early Elementary, the kids loved Track and Field Day and Water World! Both were magnificent events, and I appreciated being invited to them. Even though I was not able to attend, I would like to give a shout-out to Principal Leah Barnes and the entire team for all they do to celebrate the end of the school year!” Nate Mitchell
“I was pleased to attend the PPPS All-Staff Awards Luncheon. Superintendent Davison gave a great speech, and I had a chance to sit with our new curriculum director, Susanne Carpenter. She is so caring and calm, and I really enjoyed getting to know her. I also had a chance to read the resumes of our new hires in the district. They were very impressive! Lastly, I really enjoyed attending the graduations. They were just beautiful! At Cedar Street’s graduation, it was great to see all those students persevere and succeed.” Mary Beth Sons
