2024 PAC-1-ACT Cast List

2024 Production Calendar

The 2024 PAC-1-ACT Festival will be presented March 28th, 2024.

Act 1

"Ten Actors in Search of a Cell Phone" Directed by Ari Pantoja

Just as the stage manager is getting ready to call "Places" for the start of the school's play, everything comes to a screeching halt. Brandy has discovered that her cell phone is missing and refuses to go on until she finds it. The other actors try to help her re-create her every move to find the exact moment the phone was misplaced, and what follows is not only the quest for a cell phone but a trip through a tangle of who said what to whom. From secret boyfriends, pet nicknames, and the confusion between Tony the boy to Toni the girl, we get a very funny look at how gossip gets started and where it goes. Does everyone learn a lesson? Heard any good gossip lately?

Act 2

"The Desperate Housewives of Shakespeare" Directed by Noah McCrossin

Okay, these housewives may not be real, but they are desperate. Shakespeare has been manipulating and twisting their lives for six plays now, and they desperately want to escape his evil machinations. But are they desperate enough to commit murder? Shakespeare has been found dead: stabbed, poisoned, starved, choked, bitten by an asp, and even turned into a baardvark. Lady Macbeth, Juliet, Kate, Rosalind, Cleopatra, and Titania all had the means and the motive to kill Shakespeare, but who really did it? This comic tragedy (or is that tragic comedy?) has all of the action of a Shakespearean play but with none of those angsty monologues about the meaning of life.

Act 3

"The Fourth Wall" Directed by Emma Adams

Leaping llamas! "The Fourth Wall," a play within a play, begins as a murder mystery, but the murder victim won't keel over. The playwright forgot to give the characters names, and a rude audience member keeps interrupting the show. Even the ending of the play stinks! Everyone is supposed to die and then the character Death is supposed to do an interpretive dance. Thankfully, the audience's agony is cut short halfway through when the actors break character because Death accidentally kills the Host and then leaves the set to move his car. Without Death, how can the play go on? But all is not lost. With such a rotten ending and no director or playwright in sight, ad-libbing can only improve the play. How will the play end? No one is sure - not even the actors!
