Welcome students and families!

As the principal of Paw Paw Early Elementary School, I am excited about the direction Paw Paw Early Elementary is heading. Here is a timeline of our work!

2017-2018

  • Differentiated instruction in a workshop model (Daily 5 for most)

  • Created PRIME Time for Tier 2 intervention (Reading supports)

    • Purchased LLI Kits as a tool for interventions

  • Focus on GELN K-3 Essential Practices a focus for ongoing professional learning and discussion

  • PRIDE Matrix Created and lessons for all areas in the matrix

2018-2019

  • Adoption of Wonders for ELA

    • ELA reps worked throughout the summer to develop weekly unit plans and essential lessons

  • Continued PRIME Time

    • Added A decoding inventory called Differentiated Instruction to support phonological awareness and word recognition, word recognition and fluency, fluency and comprehension. vocabulary and comprehension

  • Continued to work assuring that small group instruction was a priority in each classroom

  • Developed essential standards for all grade levels and all subjects through the MTSS process

2019-2020

  • All teachers trained in Daily 5 to provide common language and understanding

    • 1 model classroom from each grade level designated for Daily 5

  • All teachers trained in the PLC Process

  • Continue to refine our essential standards

  • Developing common assessments

  • Switched from Synergy to PowerSchool and developed Standards-Based Report Cards
