Greetings from the Principal
My name is Rick Reo, and I am excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Paw Paw High School. I have been a Paw Paw resident for the past 32 years and an educator for 25 years, but my employment in education has been, up to this point, in neighboring school districts. I spent 13 years as a teacher and assistant principal with Bangor Public Schools, and 12 years as a principal with Bloomingdale Public Schools. I enjoyed my time and cherish the experiences that I had in each of these districts, but I am extremely happy to have this great opportunity to work and serve in the school district that I call home.
My wife, Lori, and I have four children who have all attended Paw Paw schools. Our three oldest children are PPHS graduates (Classes of 2014, 2017, & 2018), and our youngest will be a freshman this year. So, I have a good deal of experience, not only as an educator but also as a parent of Paw Paw students. As such, I know coming into this job that we have an incredible group of teachers and staff members who are committed to the education of our children here at PPHS. I know this group to be caring, dedicated, hard-working and professional. I can give no greater endorsement to the teachers and staff at PPHS than to say that I wholeheartedly trust them with the education of my own child.
One of my primary goals as principal is to foster a safe and engaging school environment where students are happy, feel welcomed, and are ready and eager to learn. I can only achieve this goal by ensuring that my staff and I work together with our parents and community members towards this end. Parents or community members who have new ideas that might benefit us, or concerns that they feel need to be addressed, will be listened to and treated with respect. We will always strive to model respectful behavior for our students, and we ask that our parents and community members do the same. I look forward to engaging with all interested parties in our district in creating the best educational environment for our students!
Please, feel free to contact me at (269) 415-5600 or firstname.lastname@example.org if I can ever be of assistance.
