Paw Paw Early Elementary
Welcome back students and families!
As the new principal of Paw Paw Early Elementary School, I am excited and honored to become a member of the Paw Paw Community. In just the few interactions I have had with staff so far, it has become evident that this school is unique and a very special place. I am eager to get the school year started and continue to meet all the students, staff, parents and members of the community.
I would like to take this time to introduce myself, my name is Melissa Remillard and I come to you as a dedicated educator for the past twelve years. I spent the first eight years of my career as a kindergarten teacher for Battle Creek Public Schools. I loved working with our younger learners and developed a passion for ALL kids. When I did make the transition out of the classroom, I spent two years as an instructional coach. Year one was working with GSRP (preschool) teachers in the county and year two was working for a K-5 priority school. My role was to support teachers in the classroom delivering quality instruction that met the needs of all students. The last two years I spent as a building principal working with staff, students and parents to help our children reach their full potential.
On a personal note, my husband Brian is a Software Engineer for GE Aviation. We have two boys Brayden who is 6 and will be going into first grade and Masen who is 5 and will be attending kindergarten in the fall. we have two dogs, Bailey is a pomeranian and Molly is a yorkie. I love spending time with my family and friends, running and enjoy going to hot yoga when I have time.
One of the most important aspects of my work here at Paw Paw Early Elementary will be building strong relationships with students, teachers and families. You will find me during drop off and pick up, in the classrooms, hallways and lunch/recess getting to know your child(ren). My passion always has been and will be a quality education for all students. With that in mind, you can expect that I will work diligently with teachers and staff to make sure our students are exposed to curriculum and instruction that is both engaging and challenging. I am looking forward to meeting each and everyone of you as we start this new school year together!
