The Community Access Television Center has been established by the village of Paw Paw and Michigan Avenue Academy to provide production equipment and support services necessary for the creation of locally produced television programs, and to provide programming for Channel 12, Community Access Television. The Village of Lawton is a participating member of the Access Center.

Our Mission Statement

The Mission of the Community Access Television Center is to invite, encourage, and enable members to exercise their First Amendment rights through the medium of cable access television.

Access Center Membership

Under agreements between the Access Center and the Village of Paw Paw. Membership in the Access Center is available to residents living within the boundaries of the Village of Paw Paw.  Membership will be made available to residents living within the boundaries of other governmental entities which enter into Access Agreements with the Access Center.

Channel 12 can been seen in Paw Paw and surrounding areas served by Comcast cable.  For program information 24 hours a day call:

(269)657-7812

Audio for the TV-12 bulletin board is provided by WMUK, National Public Radio, Western Michigan University.

Public Service Announcements (PSA's) are accepted for cable cast on an alpha numeric bulletin board.  PSA's are accepted from any member, and anyone living within the school districts' boundaries of the membership area, and must be of a non-profit nature.  PSA forms are available in the Michigan Avenue Academy Office, and Paw Paw Village Hall.  Forms must be submitted to the Michigan Avenue Academy Office at least one week prior to cablecast.

Upon Request from Paw Paw, the Access Center will make available a block of time to tape comments from candidates running for positions on the village council or the school board.  All candidates must adhere to time limits and appear at a scheduled time.  Comments are cable cast unedited.

While the Access Center encourages non-profit organizations to have members seek certification to assist them in producing videotapes, the difficulty of finding sufficient volunteers is recognized.  Low cost videotaping services are available to non-profit organizations upon request.  Rate sheets are available in the Michigan Avenue Academy Office
